Amanda McLaughlin
Amanda gained an understanding of the devastating ripple effects of burnout through her experience in the performing arts as a contemporary dancer.
Her perspective was more profoundly shaped when her first husband, Michael, was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the age of 26. When Michael passed away at age 29, Amanda realized an essential truth: Ignoring her own needs left her feeling depleted and resentful. This not only affected the quality of care she could give her husband, but also left her unaware of how to care for herself after he passed away.
Amanda met Marcy when the two turned to integrative treatment at Hope4Cancer. Their conversations revealed a shared passion for supporting caregivers, as well as leaders in communities, organizations, and families. Together, they recognized the need to create spaces where those pouring into others could recharge, find support, and refine their vision.
With firsthand experience navigating both creative burnout and the challenges of caregiving, Amanda is committed to being a champion for those who live to help others thrive. Her mission is to equip caregivers and leaders with the tools, community, and rest they need to continue showing up with strength and purpose.
